The Assistive Technology Priority Project goal is to increase access to the general education curriculum for students with disabilities through the use of assistive technology (AT). This project supports the accommodations and modifications that are necessary for students with disabilities to master curricular objectives and to participate in statewide assessments.
The project has developed the websites www.ttaconline.org and Virginia Assistive Technology Priority Project Website which provides the following:
- Differentiated lesson plans to deliver SOL-based content instruction to a diverse population of learners, including students with disabilities and/or limited English proficiency (LEP).
- The resource section includes books, articles, journals, relevant legislative initiatives, materials, and websites, while the events section highlights state and national conferences, workshops, trainings, and lectures. Both of these components support professionals, family members, and others who serve children and youth with disabilities.
- Self-paced, online workshops designed by T-TAC staff members throughout Virginia that provide ongoing professional development opportunities.
