November is Family Engagement in Schools Month

November is Family Engagement in Schools Month.  Governor Ralph Northam has issued a proclamation outlining the importance of families as they help their children reach their full potential.  He notes that “Family Involvement in Education Month is an opportunity to recognize the important relationship between families and education institutions and the work being done throughout the Commonwealth to ensure that Virginians work together to build better futures for all children.”

The Virginia Department of Education is committed to improving parent and family involvement for all students including students with disabilities. The VDOE, and TTAC ODU,  believe that family school collaboration is essential to student success.

Panorama has created a Family Engagement: A Comprehensive Guide, to assist you with strategies and tools to meaningfully and continuously engage families in their children’s learning and development.  And, check out this  Family and Schools list of resources available from VDOE.

Our TTAC ODU staff has curated a list of their favorite resources in an “Extra” edition of the TTAC ODU E-News.  View the latest edition:  TTAC ODU November E-News Extra.  To receive future editions, submit this E-News Subscription.
