As summer quickly approaches and we begin planning for a new school year, here are a few professional learning opportunities and resources to consider that will help ensure your staff is ready and equipped to provide high quality instruction in the months ahead.
HLP Resources
The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is hosting a HLP Palooza. These virtual sessions are based on content from the 2nd edition of High-Leverage Practices for Students with Disabilities (Revised & Updated). Speakers include the authors and editors of the new edition, members of the original High-Leverage Practices writing team, and national HLP experts ready to amplify your use of the HLPs. 2024 CTA Save the Date!
The Content Teaching Academy (CTA) is a professional development program for in-service teachers hosted on the campus of JMU each summer. The CTA offers targeted and sustained professional learning on a variety of topics. Academies offer high-quality professional development that includes in-depth studies across a range of content areas. In addition, each component of the CTA is designed to engage participants in critical dialogues of practice with instructional sessions conducted by scholars and master teachers who understand the challenges associated with today’s classrooms. Sessions are scheduled for June 24-27 at JMU’s Festival Conference and Student Center. Click here for more information
