Description
Each school year is filled with excitement! Continuous School Improvement Plans have been created; great ones even have SMART goals! A calendar of school holidays, events, professional learning, meetings, assessments, etc. has been established. And let’s not forget about DATA. Each school year is FILLED with DATA! Sometimes there’s so much data that it can be overwhelming to coordinate meeting schedules for data review. Here’s where the 5 Things to “get right” with DIDM Infographic Tool may be helpful.
Use of Data is a core component of Virginia’s implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support. This infographic can serve as a quick reminder of the data and teaming systems that need to be in place for effective progress monitoring of division, school, classroom and student goals. In order to efficiently use the iterative school improvement model: Plan – Do – Study – Act, it is critical that you identify exactly what data points (right data) you will monitor to measure ongoing progress toward goals (right time), and what team (right people) will monitor each data set at set intervals (right time). Using a set protocol (right process) to review data can help build fluency and thereby leave more time for the discussion and decision making.
