The IRIS Center at Vanderbilt University develops and disseminates free, engaging, online resources about evidence-based practices to support students, particularly struggling learners and those with disabilities. These resources are designed to bridge the research-to-practice gap.
As a user-friendly way to learn which of the IRIS resources align with high-leverage practices (HLPs), the center has developed a high-leverage practices alignment tool. To facilitate your professional learning activities, use the tool to select resources that can be used to build teacher knowledge of the four critical components of special education teacher practice:
- Collaboration
- Assessment
- Social/Emotional/Behavioral Practices
- Instruction
You will find modules, case study units, activities, and other reliable, effective resources that align with the 22 high leverage practices outlined in the guidance document, HLP for Special Education Teachers.
