“You can’t intervene your way out of a Tier 1 problem,” goes the saying. For this reason, a strong Tier 1 foundation is key to supporting staff and students in the areas of academics, behavior, mental wellness, and attendance. During the month of December, we shared a five-article series that focused on how school staff can strengthen Tier 1 implementation. Creating an action plan (sample template) with a clear progress monitoring component is essential to reach fidelity at all tiers. When using the Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI) or similar tool to assess implementation for planning purposes, consider how the data gathered can inform the focus areas of teaming, implementation, and evaluation.
