Summer Learning Opportunities in Autism

Headed to the beach, mountains, or a hammock in your backyard this summer?  Need something to read to help you plan for next year, gain new insights, or build upon your current practices?  Search the TTAC ODU Free Lending Library to find the perfect book to meet your needs. Books will be mailed to you!

Stay tuned for information on upcoming workshops in regions 2 and 3 with local author and professor, Kelly Cartwright, on Executive Skills and Reading Comprehension.  Once details are finalized and registration is open, you will be able to find information on the TTAC ODU Events Page.

Autism Focused Intervention Resources and Modules(AFIRM) offers free online modules for all 27 evidence-based practices identified by the National Professional Development Center on Autism Spectrum Disorder. Earn a professional development certificate or CEUs for completing a module.  The site also offers a resource library of materials that support the use of evidence-based practices with students.

VCU ACE – The Foundations of Autism Spectrum Disorder  This free online course focuses on the primary characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), including communication, social development, repetitive patterns of behavior and sensory processing issues along with services available for individuals diagnosed with ASD. Upon completion of the course, you will be eligible for a Certificate of Completion or CEUs.

VCU ACE – Webcasts  Use the “search” feature to find archived webcasts covering a wide variety of topics related to autism.  You can gain detailed information about evidence-based strategies from the experts, and you can do it in the comfort of your own home!
